Emerging areas of technology, industrial application and factory automation are growing towards distributed concepts. Distributed processes, plants, and control needs for new energy concepts more sustainable, efficient, and reliable. Distributed generation (DG) of energy systems, allowing the integration of renewable and non conventional energy resources, is becoming part of the strategic plans of most countries to address current challenges associated to energy management. In this context a new scenario has appeared in which small energy sources configure new kind of energy systems including small power generators and energy storage devices.
The Energy Day main subject is «Distributed Generation - Towards a new Energy Paradigm».
